This is my Audi A3 which i thought would be a nice little rat plus i have not seen another thats been done. Boring looking little car needs something doing to it and i aint spending loads of money on it
Image
so lets get rusting!!!

Any way so far ive rusted the bonnet, got some nicer wheels for her to sit on (VW's £120 for all 4), gonna get some lower profile tyres aswell coz there abit chunky. I also want to put some 20mm spacers on the rear wheels(think that would look sweet) also got a debadged grill but it wont fit(cheap rubbish) but ill make her fit when ive got a chance. Also i was think of painting the front wings and bumper and also the rear bumper and boot(debadge that aswell) army green or army grey was going to go for matt black but everyone seems to do that. I dont want to lower it as A3's are quite low anyway and i do use my car everyday and for partys and festivals would look awesome but practically not gonna happen.
Anyway i look forward to your comments

Olive Drab would look awesome. Agree with Swompy though, drop it, even if it's just 35mm or so.
Matte black the alloys and a few well placed decals and it'll be a nice Mil-themed A3!!

Olive drab???take it thats the name of the colour, will look it up.
Like i said guys i cant lower it, its already a pain in the arse for the sort of things i use my car for so lowering it would only make things worse im afraid but i know where your coming from.
What do you think about 20mm spacers on the rears??????
And do you think that spraying the doors would look better that spraying the wings????
Gonna get some of that rusty paint too and have an experiment with that :)

Liking it, it's unusual to see an Audi rat!

The best thing about Rat-look is you can do almost anything and it'll look good!

So got right on it, fitted my debadged grille looks pretty nice, was a total arse trying to fit it, the grille was slightly out so it was never going to fit so a bit of fetterling was needed to make it fit sweet.

Then i went and got some 20mm spacers for the rear wheels and fitted them looks awesome brings them out pretty much flush with the arches, well happy with them.

Heres a better view

the paint you want for it is nato green like i did mine, its well easy to paint with and i got a 2.5 litre can on ebay for 20 quid which was more than enough to do the whole car

Sorry to hear that tbh.Why does the bonnet look terrible, how could i improve it? i just thought it would be a bit different + the car is pretty knackered. I'm probably wrong but i always think its a shame to see a ratted VW golf bearing in mind how much a mint can go for(even though they look awesome). Would be nice if you could give me some feedback. Cheers

I like the way you've done the bonnet, doing half first then the rest shows up different shades of rust looks good.

Cheers payload :)
Well got her through her MOT for another year :fawkyeah
Thrust bearings on it way out.
New front wishbones. Had to take the wheels i bought off coz apparently the fronts are slightly buckled (annoying) and the tyre were shite. Was wondering if anyone knows if you can get them fixed "unbuckled"?
Done a few little bits and bobs on her over the weekend let me know wot u think :) Any ideas are welcome
Image
Went to halfords on saturday to see if they had any matt green paint, was ready to give up wen i turned round and saw halfords own camo spray paint, its comes in 4 colours- green, khaki, brown and black all with a matt finish £7.99 per can. Nice

Patch work camo i reckon, have not seen another car done like it yet so thats a bigger enough excuse for me to do it :lol
Next im gonna order me some of that there rusty paint, then do all the wheel arches and a few other random bits so it looks proper ragged. Ahhhh yeahhhhhhhh!

Realy liking the idea buddy. Not many places will un-buckle a alloy wheel but there deffinatly is a company out there. If i remeber who they are i will tell. Alloys require alot of heat to re-shape and can be a exspensive task to do. It might be cheaper to get another set. What ever you do dont let anyone use a tourch and a hammer to un-buckle it!

Starting to come together now. I don't have a good imagination for final looking projects so I can't guess how this'll turn out!! I suppose all of the silver is going? I like the bonnet :tu looking forward to more rust!

As for the wheels, I'd dump them for the cost of new ones.
