All of these photos were taken c.1990. Some are as new as 1995. The subject cars were mostly modern high end stuff but most of them are classics now, including the cars in the background. If anyone of you are familiar with Dublin see how many cars you can name and what streets they were taken on.

Hope you enjoy.

Image
A nice BMW 525i E34, with an E32 7-Series in the background, and a Nissan Sunny.
Image
Another shot, this time from behind.
Image
A BMW 850i E31 and an Audi Quattro coupe. I can spot a VW Golf Mark 1, a Citroen Dyane and a Mini of some sort in the background.
Image
A BMW 320i E30 Cabriolet on display at Murphy & Gunn BMW in Dublin, E34 5-Series parked next to it.
Image
Another shot of Murphy & Gunn; this time from the outside. An E32 735i and an E24 6-Series parked outside. Note the Toyota Starlet to the left too.
Image
A UK reg BMW M3 E30, with a cool reg plate.
Image
A Porsche 928, with a reserved plate. Cops wouldn't be too happy with the spacing of that plate today. A VW Golf Mark 2 in the background too.
Image
Another Porsche, and another reserved plate. This time a 911, with a plate reading '911 AZU'. I can see the nose of a Citroen XM in the background.
Image
A BMW 320i E30, not an Alpina model despite the alloys and badges. A Peugeot 205 parked next to it with learners plates.
Image
A Ferrari 308 parked in a dealer showroom, with a SAAB and possibly a Jaguar or Daimler in the background.
Image
Another shot, this time showing the reserved plate reading '308 BZI'
Image
A BMW 320i Cabriolet, brave owner leaving the roof down in Dublin City Centre.
Image
A BMW 316i E30. Note the early Fiat Bravo to the left.
Image
Some kind of MG, I think. I'm more interested in the Micra-van. Ireland had a lot of Car-vans in the 90s, including a Suzuki Swift-van, Ford Fiesta MK3.
Image
A Jaguar XJS Cabriolet. I can see a Nissan Bluebird, a Nissan Prairie (with L plates) and a Renault Master van.
Image
A very rare BMW M1 E26, surrounded by brand new BMW 3-Series' and a Mitsubishi Colt.
Image
A BMW 320i E30 Cabriolet - nice parking!
Image
A BMW Z1 and a new BME 3-Series E36
Image
Another shot of the Z1
Image
A BMW 850i E31, with some other BMWs in the background
Image
Brand new, and unused!

A Jaguar E-Type and a Jaguar MK2 outside a crash repair garage. I can also see an Austin Metro, a Renault 5 and a Nissan Micra.

A Porsche 911 outside Des Donnelly Motor Company
Image
A BMW 325i E30, which looks stunning
Image
A BMW 735i E32, oddly parked in the middle of a road. I can see a Citroen AX next to it.

A Porsche 911, and the nose of a BMW 8-Series E31 outside Des Cullen Cars

A Mercedes SL Cabriolet parked on a quiet road

A Porsche 911, parked in front of a Ford Escort Mark 2 and a Fiat Panda. A Datsun Cherry in front.

A BMW 320i E30 Cabriolet parked in a garden

A Ferrari 400i parked on a quiet road - this car is still with its original owner today. A Mark 1 VW Golf across the road, and a Honda Civic EF driving along
Image
Ferrari 400i again
Image
A BMW 5 Series E28, parked in front of a Rover 216 and an Audi 100
Image
A Ferrari Mindail Cabriolet parked in a dealer showroom

A BMW 6-Series E24, and a BMW 520i E34 on display at a dealer showroom

Another shot. This time with an Opel Senator, a Peugeot 205, a Renault 5 and a BMW 3-Series E36 also parked in the carpark.

Two Porsche 944s
Image
An Irish reg Chevrolet Corvette

Another shot of the Corvette

Some more photos.

A Dublin based Toyota dealer, who are still in Business today.

Image
McCoy Motors Toyota main dealer in 1981, with a MK1 or MK2 Toyota Supra parked in the forecourt. This garage is still in business as a Toyota dealer over 30 years in Lucan, Co. Dublin.

Image
McCoy Motors Toyota main dealer in 1989, with a 1987 Toyota Corolla GL to the left hand side of the photo (reg ending in MH-550) and another one at the petrol pump, an EP81 Toyota Starlet to the right hand side with a fifth generation Toyota Celica close by, another Toyota Corolla in the house behind the Celica and a KP61 Starlet to the left of the showroom. Ireland liked Corollas during the 80s and 90s.

Image
McCoy Motors Toyota main dealer in 1990, with a Toyota Corolla, a Honda Civic shuttle and a Toyota Starlet in the forecourt. I think I can see a Nissan Liteace in the back.

Hope you guys enjoy, I have more to show

In 1991 I had a 1973 BL Mini 1000. They were pocket money back then. I only got rid of it because one of the engine mounts broke. I remember a CV going breaking, and after being towed to my Mothers house her husband and myself fixing it by taking the broken bit off and shoving one off a scrap 1100 Allegro he had sitting about onto it. From break to being mobile took about two hours, iirc.

This is precisely why I wish I was born around 10 years earlier, because then I could've gotten a working fully legal Mini for around £50 hahaha you were lucky dude!! :'( :bow

Great collection. Not exactly common cars to our shores. Especially even back that far. Not to mention how crap the roads were back then, i don't even think we had motorways.

Thats a Jag xk140 if you were wondering. The car vans used to be a great thing, no NCT or DOE to worry about!

Cheers for the comments guys.
Sorry I haven't uploaded more, I've been a bit busy. I'll upload some older photos this evening. Also have an update on my Nissan MicRAT.

These photos are from the 60s and 70s. They were all taken in Dublin. I'm not too good at identifying older cars, so I might have gotten some wrong.

Image
An old service station in Clontarf, Dublin from around from the 1960s or 70s. I recognise the location, its not very far from where I live now.

Image
An old BP garage somewhere in Dublin, with some interesting old trucks. J Series Bedford coming down the road.

Image
An old Shell garage in Dublin, looks like a Mark 9 Jaguar behind the pumps. 100E Anglia or Popular too, and a Morris Minor.

Image
Another old service station in Dublin. Harry Briggs Service Station.

Image
A rather large garage here compared to the earlier ones photoed. If anyone is familiar with Dublin, this is the Hyundai garage right across the road from Fairview park. Jacked up Fiat 2100 or 2300, and early Triumph Herald in the garage.

Image
Another large garage, this one looks to have a car showroom too. Lots of cars here.

Image
Old Ford garage in the city.

Image
Linders of Smithfield, Dublin. Main dealers of Austin Morris, Wolsley, MG, Hillman, Fiat, Peugeot and Opel. Linders are a Toyota main dealer in Smithfield today.

Image
Smithfield Motors LTD, in Smithfield, Dublin.

Image
Miller Motors in Dublin, with a Fiat 600, a Morris Minor and a Mini outside. Wartburg 312 next to the Mini, NSU Prinz in front of the Minor van. Black Fiat 1100.

Image
A Fiat Factory in Dublin. I never knew about this.

Toyota Price list from a dealer in Limerick from 1996.
