Little thing I thought we could have on here, get people putting up pros and cons for different aspects of being in the modified car scene.

This is one that we all know about:

Daily Rat vs Trailer Queens

Pros:

Don't have to worry about the car every time you take it out -VS- Getting crowds of admirers every time you take it out
Enjoy the vehicle you've built and pushing it hard -VS- Worrying about damaging the body work or frame and polished bits, so you never go over cruise speed
Doing burnouts and smoking the rear tyres -VS- Dropping the airbags and laying frame
Getting to put "rust" as your car's official colour -VS- Listing "pearlescent tangerine candy apple red with gold metalflake", or similar, as your car's official colour

Cons:

Having to explain that it's a rat look car, and not a pile of junk -VS- Having to tell people how much you spent paying other people to build your car
Breaking the car from pushing it so hard -VS- Spending a small fortune on obscure polished components
Buying new tyres every month -VS- Having to wait 5 minutes for the air compressor to recharge to lift the car off the deck
Worrying that the rusty parts are eventually going to rust through -VS- Sh*tting yourself if you get a scratch on your paint

So c'mon, why not see what springs to mind to compare pros and cons on :D There's loads.

A few little ideas for y'all to help get y'all started:
Lowered -VS- Stock height
Banded steels -VS- Alloys
Matt paint -VS- Metallic paint

Or even just
Paint -VS- Rust :lol

And amusing ones too like:

Sleep -VS- Modification time
Living with parents with modified cars -VS- Living on your own with modified cars

Not forgetting the all time classic.....................................

Custom car -VS- Girlfriend / Wife :lol :lol

You can't leave it there bud. You've gone for it, so c'mon, give us some pros of having a custom car over a wife / girlfriend then if you think the car is better (I agree though, left 2 girlfriends so far over the car!! :lol )

That's a siggy win that is!!!

The one I had with my ex gf was we were in a fight, and she told me I could either have my modified performance cars, or just have a basic standard Corsa or Pug 206 (I was into my rice at this point) so I loaded my crap in the car and did a huuuuuuuuggggeeeee number 11 outside her house :D :lol

So hows about this guys:

Girlfriends -VS- Custom cars

Pros

Get to have sex regularly (obvious pro!!) -VS- Getting to ride round in something funky
Having the companionship and company -VS- That feeling you get when you drive along and you know everyone's staring (I love that feeling!)
Can't think of another pro here -VS- Seeing your creation alive, and getting to use it all the time
Still can't think of another girlfriend pro -VS- Telling people what you're running in it, and seeing their faces drop (be it engine, audio or whatever)

Cons

They take all your money -VS- They take all your money
They take all your time -VS- They take all your time
They moan and complain about time spent working on your ride -VS- Your ride moans and complains about the lack of time spent on it, so it breaks
They moan that you love the car more than them -VS- Well, versus nothing, they're right, we do love the car more!! :lol

Offsetting your carbon footprint by recycling tat for your rat - versus - buying brand new eco-unfriendly bodykits to fit in with current trend, thus harming the planet.
Keeping an old vehicle running - versus - extra production costs and pollution from creating a new vehicle

er... yeah.

banded steelies vs alloys

look the tits, and have infinate combinations - likelyhood is that someone else has a set of your alloys...
loads stronger and gan take a fair bit of abuse - they crack when they see a curb
can be home made... - are you joking?!?!

rusted body - shiney shiney
no maintenance required - daily washing & care needed
easy to maintain... - heart breaking when it gets scratched

MILEAGE
what should you care, its your car and your probably never going to sell it... EVER! - trayloring it to meets so as not to put miles on the clock!

rant over...

Dont care if someone bumps you in the carpark- park as far away as possible so no one touches it

thought i would just say im 17 and this is my first car and basicly what i learnt to drive in :)

pros of having a ratty car:

you dont have to give two shits about scratching it or denting it or whatever
you dont have to clean it every five mins to keep it looking good ( very helpfull to me cos i use mine for work so im all ways going up and down dirt/farm tracks)
every random sticker i get from anywhere goes straight on the back side windows :)
the amazing look from confused people staring at your car lol

cons

THERE ARE NONE!!!!

sounds the same as having a first ugly girlfriend.
learning to ride
not bothered to make it look good
and the amazed look from people when you walk with her down the street.
:tu

in other words,
a good Rat is like having an ugly woman
