I have managed to get an early 2001 Pre-Facelift Ford Focus! The insurance is the same as on the Micra, so exactly what Crack they were smoking when they came up with their rates is a mystery.
ANYway, it's a 1.6 Zetec, and I can't get the muthaf**king BONNET open! I know it opens because the guy I bought it from opened the bastid thing, but when I try I may as well shove my face into a whirring fan. Other than that it's not too bad for 200 quid. If anyone has any suggestions for opening the bonnet (preferably one that doesn't involve an angle grinder!!) I'm only too happy to listen!

Pics to follow

Yeah, this is one that opens from the grille. Why the HELL they did this is a fcuking mystery, because it picks up all the crap and muck from the road to the point where you CAN'T TURN THE FRIKKIN' KEY!! On the FOC forums it seems this is not uncommon, and any words I've used trying have been uttered a million times before.

Sorted the bonnet problem. It was the grille not allowing the key in far enough, so I ripped the bugger off! Opens nice and easily on the key now :)

This is it: early 2001 Ford Focus Mk1 1.6 Zetec. 200 quid, with 11 months MOT! Yes it has some issues, but with that kind of price I can work around them!!

This one is staying pretty much standard for now, altho I will be taking the trims off the sides & sills, and de-badging it. Maybe I'll lower it a bit and stick some wider tyres on the standard rims. And possibly Limoblack the rear windows. ;)
