A daylight front shot!! Swompy wrote: Love it, love it, love it, love it! The rat on the back looking like it is trying to paint the car is epic Thanks very much mate...appreciated . I can't take credit for the Banksy Rat idea I'm afraid but I do like the idea that much, I used it!! Closer-up shot.... connor_bristow wrote: F**king WINNING !! Yes mate i love it !! I guess my rust will be like a fine cigar....it'll get better with age!! Ukkone... wrote: So friking good looking car ! like said that rat is awesome ! Thank you again!!! It is iron 'dust' with 2 mystery ingredients. I can't tell you what they are as I don't know. Whatever it is, it bloody STINKS. You mix all 3 together and you end up with this sticky, thick goo which you 'paint' on anything. The man I bought it off had a rusty housebrick and a rusty Converse shoe!!

That paint looks like epoxy or polyester resin and iron filings...
What's next hombre? You're probably right about the blue stuff/resin. It really stinks and gets on your chest. As for next... I am planning on completing the rear bumper by adding rust to it. There is also a part of the rear tailgate (bottom strip) that hasn't been touched with paint or rust so I need to do that. I am going to order the Stickerbomb book off Amazon so I can complete the rear window which I started. I'll also stickerbomb part of the roof basket I need wheels!!! I'm on 15's at the minute and they don't really do the car justice. I'm being proper , here but I don't understand is the wheel/lowering thing. My car scrapes BADLY on one speedhump near my house. In fact, I nearly get grounded everytime I go over it. Now, this is the bit I don't get...I was told that larger wheels will help. I can sort of see the reason for this but the puzzling thing is surely as the wheels get bigger, the tyre wall gets lower....so does the overall diameter (tyre + wheel) stay the same size or am I being totally ??? I am totally loathe to raise the suspension and I don't want to do it but I really must do it if a change of wheels won't help me out. So, could someone please give me a straight answer regarding wheels.....can I leave my suspension alone if I get bigger wheels (and a reason would be nice!!!)? I will be changing them anyway so I won't be moaning at anyone who answers this correctly/incorrectly. I have some Pillar Box red paint ready to slap on...along with some white paint for whitewalls!! Finally...I'll be starting the interior soon. I will be adding a sub/stereo, but the next probable mod will be the humidor going in!! Hopefully this'll be next week.

Ya if you putt bigger wheels on it raises the car a bit. On my Corrado I had standard 15" rims and I used to grind the front splitter on everything when i put the new 16" on it doesnt as much. Dont ask me why

Cheers very much Swompy...appreciate the speedy reply. I might try for 18's then and see what 3" does for me Tbh, I REALLY wanted steelies as these are sexy as feck but 16's are about it in steel....So it'll be slab 18's I think.

Dont ask me why Rolling diameter is why the 16s raised your car, the overall diameter of the 16" rubber was larger. You can use an online calculater to work out what size your original tyres are and what size your new tyres will be. I use them all the time to calculate what size tyres ill need so i can raise the car up slightly which allows me to lower the body further over the tyres/wheels while still keeping the same hieght from the ground. This rust 'paint' is a pretty sweet idea, it really turned out looking awesome. Meh people who are more concerned about the fact you 'wrecked' a car then trying to appreciate or 'see' your intended style need a lesson on life; its a material possession! have fun with it

Ya its a shame but just the right time. Spent an absolute fortune on it over the past year. Looking at getting either a passat, A4 or mk4 golf in the form of a estate TDI to have some fun in. unfortunately it might mean the wagon has to go too as I need to reduce my out goings at the mo due to a wedding next year but I will most defo turn the new car into a rat of some sorts. One thing I'm deffo getting to go in the new car is a horn from Hornblasters
