you know there is a 105e anglia on passion ford running a 2.1 pinto thats been terrorising south london for 20 odd years putting out 187bhp at the wheels i remember the car from years ago my point is most of the power comes from the harris cam and headwork worth checking his thread out for specs ideas maybe think it was using 2.8 pistons aswell

ill make a video once its back on the road as it is now. the last of the required parts turned up today but its snowed under!!! will try get it finished this weekend.
The sourcing of parts is going to take a while, I've got pistons, rods and rings on the way
next step on the new engine will be saving to pay for the machining of the block to accept the new rods and pistons

BIIIG update, snow, whitewalls, exhaust mods, first show of the year, more custom art, ratlook roofracks.... enjoy Over the winter of 2012 whilst the weather was poor i decided to iron out some of the problems i have with the car 1) the prop clips under heavy acceleration caused by being too tight to the tunnel and crappy lever shocks. solution. Tunnel mod, turret the back end and fit adjustable shocks! 2) the cars so darn low that the exhaust was 'removed' by a pesky speedbump on more than one occasion! solution, new exhaust system and fabricate a section through the sill for the pipe to pass! And here we are this week, snowed under, couldnt resist going for a trial run on the new suspension..... Its so much now, its an animal in the snow though! first show outing of the year. all ready for a show. roof rack mods prepped my spare bonnet for some love from Reborn to be wild. Her stuff really is top notch!

glad to see this back on the road and loving the side exit exhaust, me personally i prefered it without the roof rack but then i hated them when it was the thing to do in the aircooled scene aswell but each to their own nice work ps hows the 205 build going

cheers for the comment. The rack is very marmite, im not that keen on it to be honest,
Its not going to stay on there permenantly, (eats fuel as well)
The 205 build will be uber slow, got boring financial stuff to do alongside.
Ive got a slim inlet manifold for twin 45's, thats the only new part ive purchased.

Bit of a change of plan, think im gunna sell off all the parts ive acquired for pinto building,
im supposed to be doing boring stuff like saving for a house and the cost of the pinto build just doesnt make sense.
still going to go for bigger power but in the form of a zetec lump i think,
Gunna run it this show season as is with the stock 2 litre pinto, then hunt out a zetec donor for a winter switch around.

also going to finish the steering rack conversion, going to adjust the camber that the front wheels sit at and make it adjustable as i had zero front end grip on a track with all the camber im running!
Rear axle swap is also planned for the winter, should be epic for next year!

Big changes since last update Had a major disagreement with the law of gravity. Excessive speed + heavily cambered country road + bumps = negative ground clearance and damage!! Mashed the exhaust, lower arms, sump and mangled an engine mount as well as snapping the coolant takeoff to the inlet manifold. Seeing as i had unplanned downtime seemed a no brainer to improve all the niggly issues i have with the car as well as repair the damage. Problems...Steering box is awful and play is a big issue at speed ........... solution..... Fit a steering rack Camber on front wheels is excessive resulting in no front end grip and understeer on way into corners - was silly at RRG13! ........... solution..... Modify lower arms to correct geometry Rear wheel/tyre combo is too narrow, cant put power down ........... solution..... Fit rediculously wide rear wheels Bored with power output of stock motor with stock weber carb ........... solution..... DCOE's and a few other tweaks Suspension is too soft ........... solution..... Stiffer springs and ARB on front So heres a few update pics DCOE clearance mods Wide wheels Steering rack extensions i made to use with a mk1 escort imperial rack - all splines and threads the same as the original box, rods etc cheers Andy

Should be back on the road early next year, Mods are pretty much complete to get the DCOE carbs in, just need to paint the areas of the engine bay and battery tray that needed modifying. Steering rack stuff is pretty close too, finally sourced all the right bits to join the necessaries together. Looking at ways to lift the subframe up into the car a bit is whats taking a while there. Found what must be the only area of rot in the car in the base of the A pillar whilst i had the wings off. Repairing that will take a bit of time but nothing too major. The main bulk of work will be getting them rear wheels in, rear axle swap was always planned but to get the maximum benefit from upgrading axle i will need to convert from leaf spring to coil spring. This isn't a horrendous amount of work but all the geometry will take a lot of measuring, remeasuring, probably have to make a jig to get everything true then need somebody to make me some custom halfshafts..... Itl be ace when its done
