So what is ‘Rat Look’ all about?
Author: Rat-Look Editorial Team | Filed under: Rat Look GeneralPeople often ask what the rat look is all about, and why we do the things we do to our vehicles. Thing is, there isn’t a simple standardized answer to this question as rat look is one of the few styles of car modification that is truly unique to the individual. You can ask 100 different people what rat look is all about to them, and get 100 different answers. Every member on this site will have their own reasons for ratting, and their own take on what exactly rat look is to them. To some people, it’s about having fun and being a bit different from the rest of the crowd of matching wheels and body kits. To others, it’s a style where they can be as creative with their cars as their mind, wallet and what is physically possible allows (and even this is pushed to the limit at times!!!)
Whatever your reason for ratting, we all enjoy it and have great fun ratting out our vehicles. It gets some great responses from the average Joe on the street, it makes people look twice as you drive along, and with some, it really amazes people too with what can be done.
All sorts of things are part of the rat look and what it’s about. Don’t be mistaken, it’s not all about just rusty old cars, there really is a lot of style, thought and effort put into quite a few rat motors. From a BMW with an eye on the side for chaining it to lamp posts, to a camo painted Nissan Sunny planted firmly on the deck with a 6 foot exhaust going up out the side, even a Volvo with a hammock on the side and a Polo with arches wider than you can even begin to imagine! We have it all in rat look, and much, much more!!! We even had a famous Fiat Punto too, till it got set on fire and crushed by a monster truck!!!
So if you want to be a bit different from the lines of matching cars with their modifications from a brochure and not from their own invention, and want to have a bit of fun too with your motor, come and join the rat look!
